Take Me Home
(1 Thess 4:13-18) (2 Cor. 5:1-4)

A cloud of darkness - seemed to swallow his head,
he knew that tomorrow - he would surely be dead.
For preaching the gospel - he was thrown in chains,
his beaten, tortured body - ached with pains.
The deep loneliness - seemed more than he could bare,
longing for his friends - for their warmth and care.
Alone in his prison cell - Paul started to sing,
he knew his time was short - soon he'd see the King!

Chorus
Singing Take me Home, Take me home - no longer to wander or to roam.
When my days here are over - and my work on earth is done
take me home to see - the Holy One.
Take me home, Take me home, Take me home, Take me home.

I came home just the other day - turned on the light;
no one was around - not a soul in sight.
Glanced at the headlines - just another tragedy,
a world oppressed with darkness - struggling to be free.
And I fell to my knees - and I started to pray;
I asked God for the strength - to face another day.
Tears falling from my eyes - you know I felt so alone,
and I started to sing  - take me home!

CHORUS
