We may not yet have the sign
but it's already on our hearts and our minds
it's in all that we see or say or do,
and I'm sure it won't be long until they ask us to
get the mark and bow down to their gods,
well we're not gonna take the mark no matter what the cost,
Jesus is the truth, we'll have no god but Him,
no one else can save my soul from the pit of sin.
All around the world there is violence in the air,
hate and fear and anger filling people everywhere.
Our eyes are growing blind in the darkness of the night,
as the devil tries to make himself an angel of light.
False apostles preach, new age prophets say that we,
are ascending into godhood, they all promise peace;
but war is coming to this earth like never before,
suddenly destruction for that Babylon whore.
(Transition)
Held in a trance by the crimson flames of the abyss,
Well, wasn't that for such a time as this?
CHORUS
It's the system of the beast - not the Utopia we expected.
Men's hearts are failing them in fear and destruction is at hand.
Nothing but lies to believe in! As Babylon is resurrected,
oh but for all her beautiful splendor,
she's just a castle built of sand.
Bowing to the shiny gods of buy and sell,
our idols glow and glitter with all the light of hell,
Bible says that in the last days people's love would grow cold,
they'll be lovers of themselves and not of God, I'm told;
they thought a world without God ruled by desire and lust
would be a heaven on earth full of peace, and love and trust.
But why are the children crying as the nations rage at war?
Where have all those christians gone, what did they leave here for?
They scoff and laugh at everything the bible says
but everyone will weep from the greatest to the least,
for fulfilling every prophecy and word of God
comes the beginning of the system of the beast.
The sea turns to blood, disease and war and famine,
the sun and moon and stars turn dark with smoke to tell,
of the mercy of God as he allows these things to happen
wanting men to repent and escape the fires of hell.
(Transition)
Don't take that mark - ask Jesus into your heart . . . (CHORUS)
