Pam  - 4/2/02

Swiftly, taken from us
you fly free from the cage
of dust and bones
that we all inhabit.

We feel your spirit,
held in the arms of God
laughing with joys
we cannot know.

Your smile, the thoughtful
things you'd do
fill our memories
with the fragrance of kindness.

Rain fell from the sky
the day you left,
the tears of God wet the earth
and our faces.

The smell of a spirit set free
fills the wind that blows
through our hair
and over our skin,

and you sang a song
of thunder and breezes
and tiny drops of
soft summer sky.

Your spirit released from
the cynical confines
of a frame of jaded
earth and clay

unbound by constraints
of space or time,
you speak words to our hearts
in the sunset.

Your life and
unselfish acts of love
are a melody
trapped in our minds,
as a painting we see
when we close
our eyes, that
will not fade away.

For you Pam,
paradise opened
and you heard
a familiar voice
say, "Well done,
my faithful servant,
well done. Welcome
to heaven."

And the wonders you see,
so many beautiful things
our minds can dimly imagine
and hope that we too might

hear those words some day,
to live a life like yours,
to laugh as you have laughed,
to love as you have loved.

We know you live,
your spirit is here
with the ones you
have loved so much,

but Pam, "goodbye"
is hard to say
even when it's
for a little while,
for we have grown
to love you so much,

We know in our hearts
we will see you again,
but till then, we will miss
you so much...
We will miss you.
