Six Billion People (Matthew 9:36)

Six billion people in this world
how can I relate to them?
So far beyond my feeble understanding
six billion people,
yet we all still need Him.
One of six billion people,
so insignificant -
I wonder how God even hears my prayers
among six billion others, all my sisters, brothers
layers laid on endless layers.
I believe that God is big enough -
to reach out to six billion lovingly.
Six billion people, but He calls us all by name
I believe He even knows the heart in me.

Chorus
Six billion people, feeling so alone -
and we wonder is God even here?
In all the pain and suffering of our world -
sometimes He seems to disappear.
But my friend that's just not true -
God has not left us on our own.
He still loves you, He's standing next to us
someday He'll take His children home.

Six billion people, I close my eyes
but I still can't picture in my mind.
That many people, living here on earth
yet each one plays a part
in God's grand design.
So don't think who you are
or what you do doesn't matter -
or that God's distant and far.
Just love Him with all your heart,
and love your brother -
you can serve Him wherever you are.
People blame God for the suffering they see
all the hatred and the killing and the war,
but I know it's not His fault, He wants to help us
that's what Jesus came here for.

Rap
Six billion people - that's a lot,
think of all they are - and all you're not.
It's easy to feel like you don't  really matter -
when your hope disappears
and your dreams start to shatter.
Just get lost in the crowd
no one would know you're gone,
six billion people, the world would just move on.
But that's not true,
cause there's one who knows
you from the hair on your head
to the tips of your toes.
He loves you, you're His child,
His mark on you's residual,
among six billion people
you're still an individual.

Chorus
